THE COLONIAL REVIVAL

This beautiful colonial revival style home was built in 1917 and is just over 3,100 square feet allowing plenty of room for a growing family which was perfect for the Martins.  After a first effort to purchase the home fell through, they were able to revisit renovating this spacious home when the seller, who had lived in the home for the past 25 years, finally dropped the price.  When we teamed up to hammer out the changes that would be made, the Martins made it clear that they were going to stick to their renovation budget with no plans to go over and to their credit, we did.  Of course this meant that not every room in the house could be included in the renovation which is where the Martins came in.  Along with the help of family and friends, they tackled all of the wallpaper removal and painted all of the rooms not included in the renovation which goes to show that a lot of hard work and sweat equity pays off!  The team from MP Services handled the large renovation which included a revised floor plan in the back of the house.  Initially we had plans to stick with the lay-out but we quickly were able to make some adjustments when much of the kitchen flooring, once uncovered, needed to be replaced.  So, the end product resulted in a much more functional and beautiful kitchen with exposed original brick, a half bath, laundry room, and double glass doors leading to the back deck which lets in tons of sunlight.  Upstairs we revised the back bathroom to create a private master bathroom and the rest of the budget went to updating the plumbing and electrical along with painting the exterior of the house.  The end results are stunning and we hope the Martins love living so close to downtown for years to come!
